What Personal Information does Chubb collect? How does Chubb collect such Personal Information?<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u201cPersonal Information\u201d\u00a0is information through which a natural person is identifiable or may be identified, either directly or indirectly. This may include your name, physical address, the company for whom you work, phone number, email address, details of the preferences you express to us, your comments and questions, and technical information from the devices you use to access our website or product you are registering (e.g. a device identifier) or the person\/company that installed or maintains it. Chubb collects, uses and processes your Personal Information when you submit a form or request, or register a product with us in order to provide you with further information about Chubb’s services or products.<\/p>\n

Sensitive Personal Information. In certain jurisdictions, additional categories of personal information are classified as \u201csensitive\u201d and subject to stricter protections. For individuals located in China (mainland), \u201csensitive personal information\u201d under the PIPL includes biometric data, religious beliefs, specific identity information, medical and health information, financial account information, location tracking data, and the personal information of minors under 14 years of age. We will only process sensitive personal information where we have obtained your separate consent (or where another lawful basis applies under the PIPL), and we will inform you of the necessity of processing and the impact on your rights before doing so. In India, under the DPDPA, we will process sensitive personal data only where necessary and with appropriate safeguards[.<\/p>\n

The collection of Personal Information will be transparent to you, and you will have the opportunity to decide whether or not to provide it. However, please note that if you choose not to provide any of the Personal Information requested, Chubb may be unable to provide you with the information, services or products that you have requested. Where we need to collect Personal Information by law or to enter into or carry out a contract with you, and you do not provide the information, we may not be able to enter into or perform the contract, or we may have to suspend or cancel an existing product or service. We will notify you if this is the case at the time.<\/p>\n

For individuals located in New Zealand, Chubb will not assign a unique identifier to you unless it is necessary for us to carry out our functions efficiently, and we will not require you to disclose any unique identifier assigned to you by another agency unless it is necessary to verify your identity or for another purpose permitted under the Privacy Act 2020.<\/p>\n

For individuals located in China (mainland), processing activities relying on “Legitimate Interest” as a lawful basis will be conducted in accordance with Personal Information Protection Law (\u201cPIPL\u201d) requirements. Where PIPL requires separate consent as the lawful basis (e.g., for sensitive personal information or cross-border transfers), we will seek such consent separately.<\/p>\n

The lawful basis applied to each processing activity will depend on the applicable law in your jurisdiction. In jurisdictions where “legitimate interest” is not a recognized ground for processing (such as China under the PIPL, and Australia under the APPs), we will rely on other permitted grounds such as consent, performance of a contract, or compliance with a legal obligation.<\/p>\n

Where the applicable law in your jurisdiction does recognize legitimate interest as a lawful basis for processing, we will ensure that our interests are balanced against your rights and freedoms before relying on this ground.<\/p>\n

Where is Personal Information stored?<\/strong><\/p>\n

Because Chubb is a global company with locations in many different countries, your Personal Information may be transferred to, stored at and\/or accessed from countries other than your own in order to accomplish the purposes listed above. The countries to which your Personal Information may be transferred include the United States, the member states of the European Union, the United Kingdom, Switzerland, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, China (mainland), Hong Kong SAR, Macau SAR, Singapore, India, Thailand, and the United Arab Emirates. We will only transfer your Personal Information in accordance with applicable law in your jurisdiction, using appropriate safeguards such as standard contractual clauses, governmental security assessments, professional certification, or consent, depending on the requirements of the applicable law.<\/p>\n

For individuals located in New Zealand, we will only transfer your Personal Information overseas where we are satisfied that the overseas recipient is subject to comparable privacy protections, or where the transfer is otherwise permitted under the Privacy Act 2020.<\/p>\n

Where required by applicable law (including the PIPL in China, the PDPA in Singapore, the PDPO in Hong Kong SAR, the Privacy Act in Australia and New Zealand, the DPDPA in India, and the Personal Data Protection Act in Macau SAR), we will implement the appropriate legal mechanism (such as standard contractual clauses, certification, consent, or a governmental security assessment) required for cross-border transfers from that jurisdiction. For individuals located in India, your Personal Information will only be transferred outside India in accordance with the DPDPA and any rules or regulations issued thereunder, including to countries not restricted by the Central Government. \nWhere you have provided your consent or where otherwise permitted by applicable law, Chubb may use the Personal Information you provide to contact you about products, services, promotions, special offers, surveys, and other information that may be of interest to you. For individuals located in Singapore, we will only send you marketing communications by electronic means (including SMS and email) where we have obtained your express consent (or where an exception under the PDPA or the Spam Control Act applies).We will also comply with the Do Not Call (DNC) Registry requirements, including checking and respecting DNC registrations unless a valid exemption applies. You may withdraw your consent at any time by using the unsubscribe link in any such communication or by contacting us directly. In Hong Kong SAR, Chubb will not use your Personal Information for direct marketing purposes without your consent under the PDPO, and you may opt out of direct marketing at any time.<\/p>\n

Does Chubb share the information it collects with third parties?<\/strong><\/p>\n

Chubb may share your Personal Information with its affiliated companies and subsidiaries within the Chubb group for the purposes set out in the table above. Your Personal Information may also be shared with the parent company of Chubb, APi Group, a company with a registered office at 1100 Old Highway 8 NW, New Brighton, Minnesota, United States.<\/p>\n
